UnPlastify
UnPlastify was my final capstone project to finalise my Interactive and Visual Design Honours in 2021.
It consists of a mobile application that gamifies the recycling process, turning it from a household chore into a competitive minigame that family members and friends can compete in, allowing them to become a sustainability champion through positive environmental action.
The application directly attempts to reduce the amount of household waste that is incorrectly sent to landfill, through engaging, educating and motivating users to make the recycling progress an enjoyable one.
The task of bringing this idea to life spanned an entire year, through multiple rounds of detailed prototyping, user testing, refinement and development, with the end result being a functional high fidelity prototype which users can physically install and use on their own devices.
The application is an embodiment of the important role sustainability plays in both my life and my practice as a designer, and the final project recieved a high distinction from the teaching team.
